  4. Welcome to AppleSearch!  This document includes important information about AppleSearch version 1.0 software.

  6. AppleSearch SEED CUSTOMERS ONLY:  Previous alpha and beta versions of AppleSearch Client and Server software are NOT compatible with version 1.0.  Please upgrade all your software components, both server and client, to version 1.0.  You also need to reindex all of your AppleSearch information sources.

  8. Easy Open

If Easy Open is installed on your computer and you are having trouble opening AppleSearch Client documents, rebuild your desktop by holding down the Option and Command keys while starting up your computer. Keep holding down the keys until you see a message asking whether you want to rebuild the desktop. Click OK.

  13. Cannot Connect to the AppleSearch Server

  16. When trying to connect, you may see the error message—“Could not connect because the AppleSearch server is not responding”—if the server is busy with a CPU-intensive task (such as backup or database sorting).  You can try connecting later, or contact your server administrator.
